The heavy metal approach to the outdoorsman is nothing
new, with Ted Nugent being the godfather of hard rock hunting
it's does not surprise that hunting itself has been a sport
of choice of many, whether it's for the kill or for food.
But nevertheless, here is a DVD various hunting trips with
both Manowar frontman Eric Adams and renowned outdoorsman/metalhead
Chester Moore that takes us through a trip in areas of Texas
and the Great Lakes. ***
Not an instructional video, 'Wild Life & Wild Times'
is a documentary or sorts showing the two bow hunting everything
from bison, snakes, fish, rams, elk, etc. Yes, it's different
than what you might expect, no music videos or concert footage,
just a tag along ride with the two where you hear their conversations
about hunting and their perspective, for which makes for something
at the metal head's level, for those headbangers that enjoy
the outdoor sport. You get the suspense, the hits, the misses,
and the explanation of how they hunt, so it's fairly interesting,
and in many cases you wonder when Ted Nugent is going to show
up. ***
For the most part, 'Wild Life &Wild Times' for those
who love the hunting outdoors, and all kidding side, it just
might spark some interest. There was however some music that
was recorded for the DVD and as a bonus feature you can access
it by itself. So alas, it shows that the entire killing that
is done in heavy metal is not done for pleasure, but for fun
in the wild, defiantly showing a different side to Adams,
and it's not a weak one by any means. ***
