First off, the one thing about this record that makes
it so intriguing is that it is heavy, and I do mean heavy.
You balance that hard driving stance with the high crested
melodic endurance brought to the table and you have a recipe
for the utmost sophisticated offering of melodic metal. Complete
with thick crunch laden axe attack ala Headless Cross-era
Sabbath, upbeat tempos of classic Savatage, as well as the
hard edged melodies in the style of TNT and Millennium, the
record itself offers the best of both worlds when it comes
to melodic heavy metal and AOR.***
Tracks such as the Sabbath-esque "No Question," the full
on metal of both "Caveman" & "Eye to Eye" (where the guitar
work cracks ribs), the dark emotional "Everyone," and sub-balladry
found within "Far Away" (single alert!) makes the record run
through a riff driven, harmony laden, hard hitting, and technically
proficient ride through darkness and blistering loudness.
Yes these guys know how to write songs, which is the most
important thing, and yes, they know how to play the hell out
of them as well. All the right elements are in place, no doubt
about that.***
Fatal Force's self-titled record really embarks upon
the path of raise your fist in the air and bang your head
metal; returning gesture to the anthem styled hard rock that
stiffens the mind and adrenalizes the gusto for the unleashing
of such a masterminded collection of compositional opuses.
Fatal Force proves that they bring the balls back to song-driven
metal, truly being a "force" to be reckoned with.***
