DThis is a Swiss band that was rooted in 2001, the
prime mover is JP Schenk, an autodidact who sings and plays
keyboards, drums and bass synthesizer. The other members
on this fourth studio-album (2009) are Roger Burri (acoustic
- and electic guitars) and Oliver Guenat (guitars). - The
8 tracks on this new album sound melodic and modern and
are very tastefully arranged: lots of shifting moods (echoes
of mainly Pink Floyd but also Rush and Hawkwind), dynamics
and fine musical ideas, a varied keyboard layering (from
flashy synthesizers and bombastic church – and Hammond organ
to wonderful Mellotron waves and psychedelic organ) and
many strong, often moving guitar solos (obvious Gilmourian
undertones and loaded with emotion). The English vocals
are not bad but lack a bit emotion and expression. However,
this hardly harms the music, I am sure that Metamorphosis
their modern and varied progrock will please a lot of progheads.
