This popular series that revolves around the family
of Reverend Eric (Stephen Collins), his wife Annie (Catherine
Hicks) and their kids, always had family appeal but never
took the boring route of many other series; the melodrama
of the series is always engaging and, if not always believable,
is always enjoyable. The fifth season has some new twists
and turns and if you’re a fan of the show you’ve been following
them. I’d suggest starting with the first season if you’ve
just gone to Heaven. ---
Image & Sound:
A crisp, sharp transfer that captures the accurate
colors is a highlight of the set. There is some digital
grain present as a digital artifact and some dirt/debris
that crops up occasionally but other than that the series
looks quite good. All 22 episodes are presented in their
full screen aspect ratio (1.33:1). A warning, however, that
this set has the dreaded “Some Music May Have Been Changed…”
warning on the outside of the box so if you want the pristine
experience of the original episodes without alterations,
you may want to recorded the syndicated versions. ---
