John Ritter's last TV series arrives on DVD. "8 Simple
Rules for Dating My Daughter" inspired by a popular book
stars Ritter as a writer struggling to raise his daughters
Bridget (Kaley Cuoco), Kerry (Amy Davidson) and his son
Rory (Martin Spanjers) while his wife (Katey Segal) a nurse
has returned to the work force. The series took a bit to
find its groove as most new sitcoms do but once "8 Simple
Rules." did it became a breezy, fun comedy series with Ritter
and Segal performing at their best. The show took a radical
change when Ritter died at the beginning of the second season
forcing the series to be retooled and changing the overall
tone and feel of the show. ---
Image & Sound:
The first season looks extremely good in its DVD presentation.
Presented in anamorphic widescreen, the colors have the
typical rich look we've often seen with recent sitcom releases.
Audio sounds good if unspectacular with most of the action
in the forward speakers as befits a dialogue driven comedy
like this. ---
