Everwood is a terrific drama series that premiered
several years back. Unfortunately, for many years, the first
season (released on DVD way back on 2004!) was the only
one available on DVD. Fortunately, Warner Bros. has at long
last corrected that injustice. ***
Everwood is the story of Andrew Brown, a doctor who
moves the title town following the death of his wife for
a new beginning, with his two children. And while this is
a new beginning, it isn’t necessarily an ideal one. His
son falls for an older woman, and a friend of his son quickly
finds herself in a state of depression following a personal
tragedy. The show is a success because it takes interesting
characters that viewers will grow to love, and pits them
against real-life obstacles, including unplanned pregnancies
and drug use. ***
The multi-disc set includes all 22 episodes from the
show’s second season, with a total run time of over 1000
minutes. With an affordable price tag, 22 episodes, and
over 1000 minutes worth of content, this set comes strongly
recommended to any fan of the series. ---
Image and Sound:
Everwood looks and soun ds very good on DVD. The images
are bright and vibrant, and there are no major noticeable
flaws to speak of in terms of picture quality. The sound
quality gets the job done, though obviously, the show is
mostly a dialogue-driven production. ---
