SRU. It might seem like a meaningless series of random
letters. It’s not. The Strategic Response Unit rescues hostages,
profiles bad guys and generally busts bad guys that no one
else can bust. Starring Enrico Colantoni and Amy Jo Johnson
the series only ran 13 episodes for the first season and
an entertaining first season it is. While not “24” or “The
Unit” the show has its merit. ---
Image & Sound:
“Flashpoint” doesn’t look, well, flashy but it’s a solid
enough transfer. Colors are quite good with nice detail
although there are a few hints of digital compression artifacts
that crop up now and again. ***
The 5.1 mix sounds quite good with a nice use of the
Surround speakers. ---
