How I Met Your Mother has been an instant television
hit in recent years, and after having been exposed to the
show for the first time not long ago, it isn’t hard at all
to see why it has gained this lofty reputation. ***
This set contains all 24 episodes that aired as a part
of the show’s fourth season. ***
The show is told in flashback narrations by Ted, one
of the characters on the show. It follows his earlier life
leading up to how he met his wife, and the numerous adventures
and situations he encountered along the way. Each episode
of the series generally has its own comical sitcom premise,
but it’s all a part of a larger story as well. Season 4
begins with Ted having recently proposed to the woman of
his dreams – but as a result incurs the wrath of his friends
who feel he is making a mistake. ***
Season 4 may just be the best season of the show yet.
There are plenty of great performances from these talented
actors, and the characters and writing are some of the best
on television today. If you haven’t checked out this show
yet, I strongly suggest doing so. ---
Image and Sound:
The presentation is about what you’d expect from a modern-day
TV series released on home video. The image is very clear
and bright throughout, with only occasional distortion being
an issue – and chances are you’ll be so involved in the
show you won’t care. Audio is front-heavy, which is to be
expected for a presentation of this source. All in all,
it looks and sounds about as good as you’d expect.
