This is a paint-by-numbers romance with a bit of a chauvinist
twist. Kate Hudson Stars as Andie Anderson as a writer for
composure Magazine, tired of writing teen advice columns
but gets suckered into writing an advice column called "How
To Lose A Guy In 10 Days." ***
She basically tells her boss I'll date a guy and do
this just to see how long It'll take before he dumps me
and I'll write about it." At the same time, Ben Barry played
by Mathew McConaughaey also tells his boss that he can also
woo any women in the same time frame. Their co workers conspire
against them as well, and of course, Andie annoys the living
hell out of Ben by doing all sorts of asinine stuff like
making baby noises, she screws up his poker night , and
tricks him into going to a Celine Dion concert instead of
a Knicks basketball game. ***
But through it all, Ben stays with her, winning the
bet. Even though Ben reveals the real reason he stayed with
her, they do fall in love in spite of it. ---
Image and Sound:
A good transfer. Paramount did a great job remastering
the picture. Considering the movie came out back in 2003,
as just minor touchups were needed here and there. Sound
quality fares just as well, though this is a front-heavy
movie that mostly emphasizes dialogue. ---

Final Words:
|
All I can say is, It's a decent
romance, but the premise is laughable and the plot full of
holes that a truck could drive through. As it stands, this
new version is just a rental only nothing to write home about.
For its extras, it is decent enough, but like I said, skip
it if you have the original version. |
