Review:

Long before it was fashionable Hollywood was into recycling. It’s called making a sequel. Taking the same stuff that worked before and hope that the audience has Alzheimer’s that way they won’t remember they’ve seen it done before and better. “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer” is an example of the perfect idiotic sequel; lots of people do stupid things and die, well, with as much comprehension in their eyes as a cow led to slaughter. This is the type of movie that has people squirming in their seats because they realized they just wasted their money on a really stupid movie AND will never get the two hours they wasted back. ***

Julia James (Jennifer Love Hewitt of “The Ghost Whisperer”) experiences déjà vu all over again but in a bad way. A summer has passed since the killings from the previous film and she’s enrolled in college. The hook if you’ll pardon the pun here is that she along with her friends win a trip to the Bahamas and find that murder, mayhem and leaving a bloody mess has become a new popular sport courtesy of the only other guest in town. Ray (Freddie Prinze, Jr.) desperately tries to reach her before Julia becomes fish bait in a still born suspense thriller. ---

Image & Sound:

The good news is that “Still” looks quite nice in its Blu-ray debut. It’s really too bad because all of the resources wasted on this unimaginative thriller could have been used bringing another worthwhile movie to Blu-ray. Detail is good but not outstanding and while depth is an improvement over the original DVD, this is far from a terrific looking transfer. The film suffers from an overuse of DNR resulting in waxy complexion for the pretty looking cast. ***

We have a nice effective and often spooky mix that uses the 5.1 format well. It’s presented in TrueHD and lossless. ---

Special Features:

We get a making of featurrette, a music video for the song “How Do I Deal” and a couple of previews in HD. This is Blu-ray Live compatible but there isn’t any material available for it as of yet.

Final Words:

Third time is NOT the charm for this lame, clichéd sequel that is mired in a bad feeling of déjà vu. “Still” looks decent but I’m not sure why we need this poor man’s excuse for a slasher flick on Blu-ray.
