FX has been known as the network for antiheroes and
moral ambiguity with The Shield, Nip/Tuck, Damagaes, Rescue
Me, Sons of Anarchy, and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
joins that list. You could say that the comedy is a much
darker and cynical Seinfeld, as the series follows "The
Gang" of Paddy's Bar: friends and enemies out to lie, cheat,
steal, and so forth to get ahead in life -- even if it means
hurting each other and the ones they love. ***
Former child stars Fred Savage (The Wonder Years) and
Matt Shakman (Just the Ten of Us) are the directors for
all 13 episodes from season four, as the writers took pot
shots at America's Next Top Model and Extreme Makeover:
Home Edition, while Mac and Charlie go into hiding when
his father comes out of prison with revenge on his mind,
as the Gang gets that pretty writer that gives Paddy's Bar
a thumbs down -- and his little dog, too, along with his
neighbor, and tried to convince everyone that their bar
was part of the American Revolution. Guest stars this season
include comedian-actor Sinbad and Matchbox 20 lead Rob Thomas,
as Dennis decides to write about his sexual conquests, and
Charlie casts the Gang in his musical for the season finale.
