Review:

Since the Jonas Bros were already a media creation, Disney decided to do the most logical thing they could do create a show ala the "Monkeys" or the "Partridge Family" around the brothers, and for the most part it works very well. There are some odd issues where the comedy seems very forced and really not all that good. "Rockin The House" comprises (5) episodes of the Disney Channel original series. It was originally set to air in (Jan of '08) it was postponed due to the writers strike. It finally aired more then a year later in (may of '09.) ***

This release has five episodes in "Wrong Song" the first episode. In it Nick played by Nick Jonas falls hard for a girl named Penny but his brothers are absolutely convinced that's he's fallen head-over heels to quickly for this girl. In episode 2 "Groovy Movies" the brothers want to surprise their mom played by Rebecca Creskoff with a gift but they wreck a prized heirloom in the process. In episode 3 "Slice Of Life" (this episode is incorrectly called "Pizza Girl" all three of the brothers are attracted to a pizza delivery girl and they compete against each other to see who can woo her first. In episode 5 "Band's Best Friend" Carl an old friend of the brothers comes to see them, but he has an ulterior motive for seeing them.In episode (6) "Chasing the Dream" Kevin Played by Kevin Jonas gives Macy played by Nicole Anderson a chance to sing as a backup singer, but she's lousy so now he gives her the bad news that she can't sing and that the brothers won't use her as a backup. ***

Two as of yet un-aired episodes in "Beauty and the Beat" the brothers become judges for the "Miss Most Amazing Teen Contest",but judging becomes a pain when their best friend and would-be fashion designer Stella played by Chelsea Staub becomes a contestant in the contest. Inspired by what took place at the Miss Teen USA Pageant in '07 .In the final bonus episode "Cold Shoulder" a friend of Kevin's comes to visit from Scandinavia but through Kevin loves her for it everyone around he thinks that the two of them make an odd couple.Well all & all it's a really good release through the question remains why was episode 4 deleted from this release. ---

Image and Sound: "Jonas Rockin The House" is in 1.33.1 full screen and is in Dolby Digital 5.1 with Dolby 2.0 surround sound. The quality is much different then most of the other Disney channel original comedy's instead of being recorded live with a studio audience, It's shot like a network drama. The audio is front and center channel, also with subs in English SDS & Spanish as well. ---

Unfortunately this has the same problem as other Disney Channel releases why aren't they using the HD Masters instead of full screen (it's just a personal preference through). Even through it's a good but there are some minor sound problems on the DVD the sound fades in & out, through some of the Disney Channel original series that have been released on DVD have this same problem. Hopefully this will finally be corrected when new versions come out on Blu-ray.

Special Features:

Two (as of this writing) un-aired episodes of JONAS including "Beauty & The Beat" & "Cold Shoulder"and " You've just Been Jo Bro'd!!" basically the Jonas Bros version of "MTV's PUNK'd" in which they prank their co-star Chelsea Staub. ---

Plus two bonuses basically two featuretes about Blu-Ray & HD and a info featurette about Disney Digital Copy.

Final Words:

For a cheesy Disney comedy series it's actually quite funny but one thing sticks out why was episode (4) omitted from this release, but aside from that the bonus episode "Beauty and the Beat" was just the funniest thing I've seen in ages. If your a fan of the "Jonas Brothers" then this is probably a buy, For anyone else it's a rental all & all it's a decent release.
