Review:

“Marley & Me” tells the story of John and Jenny Grogan (Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston), newlyweds who relocate from Michigan to a cottage in southern Florida, where they are hired as reporters for competing newspapers. Jenny works for “The Palm Beach Post,” where she immediately receives front-page assignments. John, however, works for the “South Florida Sun-Sentinel,” where he writes nothing but obituaries and short articles about mundane news events. ***

When Jenny is expresses interest in becoming a mother, she and John decide to adopt a dog as a way to see whether or not they're ready to raise a family. Here enters a newborn yellow labrador retriever named Marley, who has absolutely no behavioral skills. He’s so uncontrollable that an obedience counselor quickly expells him from a training class. ***

When John is offered a chance to write for a column twice a week on everyday living, he realizes that Marley and his out-of-control behavior are perfect topics for his first piece. *** The rest of the film follows John, Jenny, and Marley over the next several years, going from one misadventure to the next. ***

Special Features:

All three editions of the film included a selection of five deleted scenes, a gag reel, and trailers for other Fox films. Both the 2-disc DVD edition and the 3-disc Blu-Ray edition includes a selection of nineteen deleted scenes and five featurettes on the making of the film.
