Review:

Mission: Impossible, which ran from 1966-1973, was the definitive “secret agent” television series. Over 4 decades later, things haven't changed. The series remains consistently popular, having clearly stood the test of time. ***

This multi-disc set contains all of the episodes from the series' sixth season. The set contains the usual Param ount disclaimer that some episodes may be edited from their original broadcast versions, though I didn’t notice any edits (again though, this show came out long before I was born, so don’t quote me on this.) Guest stars in this season include William Shatner, Billy Dee Williams, and Tom Bosley***

There's no denying the greatness that is Mission: Impossible. With an all-stat cast that featured Peter Graves, Peter Lupus. Greg Morris, and Lynda Day George, the sheer amount of talent compiled for the series stands as one of its finest assets. And who could forget Lalo Schifrin's classic title theme? ***

The sixth season is one of the finest the series had to offer, with some of the most intriguing and interesting storylines and episodes of the series. No fan of the series should be without this set. --

Image And Sound:

Paramount has clearly gone out of their way to make Mission: Impossible look as good as possible for its arrival on the DVD format. Despite the age of the source material, they have cleaned the image and the sound up nicely. It's great to see them go to such lengths to make the show look and sound good - especially considering how some companies will just slap a show on DVD with no remastering whatsoever. --- ---

Special Features:

This mission, should you choose to accept it, is devoid of special features. ---

Final Words:

Mission Impossible is a classic television series, and if Paramount continues their current DVD releasing trends, we’ll have the entire series available on DVD by 2010 (this is the second-to-last season.) Lack of extras aside, this collection comes highly recommended to any fan of the series!
