One Tree Hill is one of the many teen dramas to appear
on the CW Network in recent years. And unlike numerous other
shows of the genre that are repetitive and give us the same
old stereotypes, One Tree Hill is a teen drama that's actually
worth your time. With a talented cast that includes Chad
Michael Murray, Hilary Burton, James Lafferty, and Bethany
Joy Galeotti, it's one of the best shows of its type on
the air today. ***
This set contains 7 discs and all 24 episodes of the
show's 6th season. In this new season, the drama continues,
and our characters face their share of new challenges. Fortunately
the performances remain top-notch throughout, and there
isn't a weak episode in the lot. Not necessarily the best
season, but it's glad to see that this late in the game
the show isn't suffering. ***
Teen drama is a hit-and-miss genre, and it's one genre
that's over-represented on the airwaves today. But if you're
looking to get into the genre, and you want the best of
what it has to offer, look no further than One Tree Hill.
The sixth season shapes up to be one of the finest seasons
yet. ---
Image And Sound:
Strictly middle of the road, these factors remain unchanged
from earlier volumes of the show. Warner should have given
the package the necessary mastering and such before putting
it on DVD, rather than just slapping it on a disc and calling
it a finished product. The production qualities on this
disc aren't so bad that you're going to hate it, but Warner
could have done a lot more with it.

Features: |
A nice assortment of features are on the disc, but
as always it's the sort of thing that only the die-hards
are going to really going to enjoy. In addition to commentaries
and deleted scenes, the set also features other featurettes
looking back at the creation of the show and this season
with cast and crew alike. And there's the obligatory gag
reel as well. Again, die-hards are the ones who will really
eat this stuff up, but I'm not exactly complaining either.

Final Words:
|
If you're a One Tree Hill fan,
then this set will be a no-brainer - BUY IT. If you're new
to the series, though, I suggest starting from the beginning
- otherwise you might come into the experience a bit overwhelmed
and confused. But if you want the best of what teen drama
has to offer, One Tree Hill is the show for you. |
