Scrubs is one of these little shows that are critically-acclaimed
with a loyal audience, strong writing and a great cast --
yet still on life support in the ratings. It is one of those
shows that can never die. The series was resusicated by
ABC for another season, continuing to follow the unique
staff of Sacred Heart. Before moving to Cougar Town this
fall, Courtney Cox was not Friend-ly in her recurring role
as the new Chief of Medicine who believes that people don't
change because relationships never change. ***
However, her diagnosis was wrong, as J.D. (Zach Braff)
and Elliot (Sarah Chalke) were on-again as a couple; Carla
(Judy Reyes) and Turk (Donald Faison) about to become parents
for a second time, and even Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley) tried
to develop a friendship with nemesis Dr. Kelso. Also, this
season finds the Janitor finding love for the first time
with the Lady, as everyone is invited to their "fake" wedding.
Season eight marks the return of J.D. and Elliot's exes
Kim (Elizabeth Banks) and Sean (Scott Foley), who are now
a couple. As always, this was supposed to be the last season
of Scrubs, as "My Finale" was set to be to the final episode.
Written by creator Bill Lawrence, J.D. leaves Sacred Heart
to be near his son, as his relationship with Elliot progresses,
and he finally gets what he always wanted to hear from Dr.
Cox. (Spolier: Scrubs is returning this fall with Drs. Cox
and Turk as med school teachers; the original staff will
return for occassional guest spots).
