Earning critical praise and accloades across the Atlantic,
Skins is currently in its third season, as it continues
to climb in viewership. The series chronicles the trials
and tribulations of teenagers from Bristol, England, as
they faces the challenges of growing up. Its popularity
has led to the creation of "skins party" -- an raunchy night
of execessive drinking and recreational use of drugs. ***
Consisting of ten episodes, Skins' sophomore season
-- starting with bad boy lothario Tony (Nicholas Hoult)
still in recovery from his injuries last season. Joining
the Skins for only this season is the character Sketch (Aimee-Ffion
Edwards), who begins stalking Maxxie (Mitch Hewer) -- who
is gay and isn't interested in her. So, she settles for
Anwar (Dev Patel), who later discovers that she's trying
to turn him into her own Maxxie. The final two episodes
finds the lives of everyone facing high school graduation
and saying farewell to one of their own. ***

Final Words:
|
Skins may be conceived as the
British version of Degrassi due to its unapolgetic and unglamorous
look at life being a teenager, but like Degrassi, you can't
take your eyes of it and stop talking about it. Get the Skins
for season two -- coming to DVD. *** |
