Review:

Jun Falkenstein directs The Tigger Movie. The film features the voice talents of Jim Cummings, Nikita Hopkins, John Fiedler, Ken Sansom, Peter Cullen, Andre Stojka, and Kath Soucie. ***

When Winnie the Pooh and company prepare to set up an adequate winter home for a friend, Tigger's constant bouncing around causes more harm than good. So his friends suggest he go outside and find more of his species to bounce around with. He takes their advice literally, and embarks on a search for his own family. ***

Anyone who is a fan of the Winnie the Pooh franchise is going to enjoy this film. The characters here are timeless, and with a relevant, entertaining storyline, The Tigger Movie gets the job done and then some. ***

It's hard to create entertainment these days that is appropriate for all ages but still manages to draw in an older audience. While it's clear that this movie was created with younger viewers in mind, it certainly doesn't alienate any potential older viewers. Disney has always managed to depict characters and storylines in such a fashion that their material is timeless, and appeals to all ages. This film is no different. It isn't exactly a classic in the seemingly-endless array of Disney animated features, but for what it is, it's a very entertaining film. ---

Image And Sound:

As a fairly recent production, this film looks and sounds very good for this home video release. Colors are vibrant and there aren't any anomalies that will detract from the all-important viewing experience. Audio fares just fine as well, with the speakers coming to life during song sequences. All in all, a good presentation.

Special Features:

Naturally, the disc features mostly kid-oriented bonus features, although if your children are into the movie, they'll enjoy these features as well. They include sing-alongs, music videos, TV episodes, and more. Nothing overly compelling to get the attention of older viewers, but still a nice assortment of material.

Final Words:

Another terrific Disney animated feature. While I wouldn't go so far as to file this one under Disney classics, I'm still giving it a solid recommendation.
