Why does Disney have to ruin a good thing every time?
“Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure” is a desperate attempt
to milk a cow that has VERY tender utters. “Return to Neverland”
wasn’t bad—it at least had voice actors that SOUNDED like
the original cast and the design elements, animation and
production looked quite nice. The good news is that toddlers
aren’t real demanding. The bad news is that parents have
to sit through THIS. ***
Tink accidently destroys the last remaining perfect
Moonstone and with the Harvest Festival being a couple of
days off, Tink needs a back up really fast. She decides
to use a magical mirror a Fairy Tale Theater (hear a tie-in
coming for a Disney attraction?) and the mirror has ONE
wish left. She has to travel a perilous route to the island
including avoiding trolls, rats and, well, Tink gets stranded
on the island without her magic. ---
Image & Sound:
Done in CGI animation rather traditional drawn animation,
“Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure” looks BETTER than many
theatrical films that are transferred to Blu-ray. Presented
in a 1.78:1 widescreen aspect ratio, “Tinker Bell and the
Lost Treasure” looks positively rich with beautiful, rich
detail and a lovely color reproduction. ***
The audio sounds terrific as well with a DTS-HD transfer.
The music sounds wonderful and the voice performances are
never overwhelmed by the other sound elements. It’s a nicely
mixed and transferred sound track. ---
