TThere aren't a whole lot of great sitcoms still being
produced on TV these days, but Two and a Half Men is one
of the few. Starring Charlie Sheen (Platoon, Wall Street)
as a slacker bachelor, Jon Cryer (Pretty In Pink, Superman
IV - The Quest For Peace) as his anal-retentive, recently-separated
brother, and Angus T. Jones as the separated brother's son,
the laughs are nonstop throughout the series. Season the
latest season is no exception. ***
*** The set contains every episode of Season 6. The
big ongoing storyline in this chapter is that Charlie may
finally have found the woman of his dreams to settle down
with. Yes, THAT Charlie. No, hell hasn't frozen over. As
always there is an impressive ensemble of guest stars. It
may be the best season yet, for no small number of reasons
*** There's not much else that can be said - this show
is brilliant, and it stands as one of the best shows on
television today. The laughs never stop, and the performances
from actors and guest stars alike only add to the experience.
If you're a fan of the series, you'll want to pick up the
third season set. ---
Image And Sound:
An overall good transfer that doesn't look too different
from earlier volumes. The dialogue is loud and clear, and
always audible. Image quality looks fantastic, with only
the occasional issue or glitch in the picture. To put it
simply, this is about as good as a sitcom can look on DVD.

Special
Features: |
Three featurettes on the disc. While none of them are
really in-depth, they are still a worthwhile view for any
fan of the show. One deals with the growing up of Angus
T. Jones, who portrays Jake, and his character's evolution.
Another comes from the women's perspective, and explores
those critically-overlooked characters. Rounding out the
bonuses is a gag reel. Ultimately ,this is a very good set
of features, much better than plenty of shows out there
that include nothing for bonus material.
