Review:

People always love an underdog story. There was Rocky and now Ugly Betty. Since the fall of 2006, viewers have been rooting every Thursday night for Betty Suarez (America Ferrera), as she sets out to make it in the cutthroat business world of New York. Betty may be socially awakard, but she remains idealistic and hopeful despite the odds against her and who stands in her way, such as villanious yet sexy Wilhelmina Slater (Vanessa Williams). ***

Production for the series has now moved from Los Angeles to the real Big Apple in order to take advantage of its rising tax incentives. The third season resolves the romantic triangle between Betty, Henry (Christopher Gorham, Harper's Island), and Gio (Freddy Rodriguez, Six Feet Under), as Betty choose herself when she decides to take the first step of her independence, which also includes moving out of the family home and into a place of her own. Guest stars this season include Lindsay Lohan as a self-proclaimed Mean Girl during Betty's high school years, and former Karate Kid Ralph Macchio as handsome politician Archie Rodriguez. ***

Special Features:

Betty Bloops and Alternate Takes, Deleted Scenes, "Coming Home to New York" featurette, etc.

Final Words:

Though moved to Friday nights at 9pm against Medium, Ugly Betty is willing to go the distance. Starting spreading the news, as season three of comes to New York and onto DVD September 22. ***
